Our Story
Our Story
We started our small farm in 2020. This was a long dream of mine and Steve, being a good sport, went along with it and has continued to support it. We both come from farming families.

Initially, we started selling pre-cut trees and had a very small gift shop, which operates out of our converted garage during the Christmas season. Over the past five years, we have slowly expanded, planting over 600 Canaan fir and pine trees, developing a plan for our farm and barn renovation, and expanding our gift shop and greenery offerings.

Our farm is located on approximately 6 acres that was part of Steve's grandfather, Edwin Busse's, family homestead. During the 1950's, Edwin and Adeline sectioned off our current property, sold the large family farm, built a lovely three bedroom home, and operated a small apple and peach orchard. Edwin passed in the mid-1970's, at which time Steve (a junior high student) and his parents, Paul and Elaine Woliung, moved to the small farm to care for Adeline. From that point, the farm was only used for a small family garden.

My story also involves Dearborn County, where my grandparents owned and operated a farm on North Hogan Road. The crops ranged from soybeans and hay to tobacco. My grandfather also operated a dairy farm. Steve's dad actually installed a milking system at my grandfather's farm. My dad and his siblings worked the farm, played basketball in the barn during down time, and created great memories, which were later shared with their children.

Steve and I both have fond memories of "the Farms." It is only fitting that we migrated back towards farming, even though it is on a very small scale compared to our grandparents.
